Classical Pilates Classes: Training Levels

All group classes whether performed on the mat or apparatus are kept to small numbers ensuring more personal attention and correction during the class. Group mat classes are limited to eight students whereas group apparatus classes, numbers are limited to four students. All classes are tapered to the experience level of the individual and are divided into different levels which are:

Foundation level

Aimed at the student totally new to Pilates, the Green Room requires each individual to take two private lessons followed by a series of ten classes at this level to give the new student a good grounding in the foundation exercises and the six Pilates Principles.

Beginner/ Level 1

This level is for the student who has experienced the Classical Pilates Method or one who has completed the ten foundation level classes.

Intermediate/Level 2

In this level the student is experienced at level one, understands the classical repertoire and has built up the strength and flexibility required to cope with the demands of the class.

Advanced Level 3

Here in this challenging class all of the students will understand Pilates Principles and be strong enough to handle the most challenging exercises in the system, whether doing the Classic Mat or using the apparatus in one vigorous and flowing class. This level is not for everyone.
